Match report On a grey overcast day, not untypically, at Ampleforth, YGs batted first and after a solid enough start start lost our way a bit before lunch. Runs from Stuart Prest (35) stand-in skipper DOK (66*) and some spirited attacking from Brewster Jnr got us to an under-par 173 before the declaration came. Some quality opening batting from one of the boys did much of the damage in the 50 minutes leading up to the tea interval, although a wicket just before raised morale a little. Lacking depth in bowling it was left to Dom Snook, Ed Binloss and Andy Brewster to stem the flow of runs but even they couldn't contain the rate and we lost by 8 wickets soon into the last 20.
